François Blanc (* 12. Dezember 1806 in Courthézon; † 27. Juli 1877 in Leukerbad) war ein französischer Mathematiker und Finanzier. François war zunächst in Bordeaux gemeinsam mit seinem Zwillingsbruder Louis (1806-1850) im Bankgeschäft tätig, dabei verdienten sie Geld mit Insidergeschäften. Danach betrieben die Brüder in Luxemburg ein kleines Casino. Nach Verhandlungen mit dem damaligen Gouverneur von Luxemburg, Landgraf Ludwig von Hessen-Homburg, und dann dessen Nachfolger Philipp von Hessen-Homburg, gründeten sie 1841 die Spielbank in Homburg. 1863 erhielt Blanc auch die Konzession für den Betrieb einer Spielbank in Monaco. Nach seinem Tod 1877 übernahm seine Witwe Marie Blanc seine Position als Generaldirektor der Casino-Gesellschaft von Monte Carlo.

François worked in Bordeaux, together with his twin brother Louis (1806-1850, in the banking business, where they earned money with insider-trading. Later, the brothers operated a small casino in Luxembourg. After negotiations with the then governor of Luxembourg, Land-grave Ludwig of Hessen-Homburg, and then his successor Philip of Hessen-Homburg, they founded the casino in Homburg in 1841. Blanc also got the concession to operate a casino in Monaco in 1863. After his death in 1877, his widow Marie Blanc took over his position as general manager of the casino-society of Monte Carlo.
The bronze plaque with the portrait in honour of François Blanc is located, slightly hidden, right next to the entrance of the casino in Bad Homburg.
