The church Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix is located in the south of Saint-Louis, close to the Swiss border. It was built in 1962. The building is from unplastered bricks with concrete framed windows and a freestanding high bell tower.
The mosaic depicts Saint Mary with two angels. It is made of black and light grey stones in a style that resembles woodcarving pictures. The mosaic is about five meters high.
