The Stations were established on the site of a reported manifestation of the Virgin Mary. The land has been owned by the Greensides family for a number of years.
In 1991, during a reunion of religious pilgrims who had previously travelled to a shrine in Yugoslavia, a manifestation involving the sun was said to have appeared to several attendees.
The following spring several children reported seeing an apparition of the Virgin Mary.
Word soon spread, and the faithful began to congregate on the spot to pray.
The owners have set up Stations of the Cross, a Rosary path, and several shrines and grottos so that the faithful may express their faith and devotion.
