This tramway is a great little gem for El Paso. This tram was originally constructed to service the TV station KTSM antennae. It was later donated to The Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. for public use. During the 1980's the tram was closed to the public and re-opened in 2001.

The ride is very cool when it is not windy, and don't forget El Paso is a windy city. The gondola sways easily to begin with. There are many trails to hike up the mountain and you can sometimes see hikers going up or down from the gondola ride.

The view is awesome when it is not windy, as the dirt and dust fills the air with small gusts. On clear days you can distinctly see the river boundary and across into Mexico, west into Sunland Park,NM, east over Ft. Bliss, and over the airport. You can easily see for 10's of miles.
