This is where you'll find all the local political types at noon. At least I assume that to be the case, as this little park is adjacent to City Hall.

The Lois Haggen Park commemorates Lois Haggen, who represented the electoral district of Grand Forks-Greenwood in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1956 to 1966. She was a member of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation, which became the New Democratic Party during her term in office. Her husband, Rupert Williams Haggen, was the area MLA and when he became seriously ill, she succeeded him in office. After losing the 1966 provincial election, she went to the United Nations as Canada's representative on the Human Rights Committee.
This small park has three picnic tables - a serene little spot to stop for lunch or coffee and relax for a few minutes. There is a small organic flower garden at the west end of the park.
