There's a reason that the Dallas locals will put up with a restaurant adorned with things Philadelphia, like the hated Eagles: Fred makes a terrific cheesesteak, one that even Philly transplants consider authentic. Besides the classic cheesesteak, Fred offers all kinds of variants on the theme if you'd like to add mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce, or peppers, but if cheesesteak isn't your thing, there are hoagies, burgers, salads, wings, fish or chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers, and even shrimp po' boys. They have a small children's menu, and soft drinks and snacks (like Utz chips) are available. The current menu is available in the gallery and always available on the website. There is plenty of room for dining in, but they are terrific about getting takeout orders ready if you phone in. Sorry, no delivery.
Open Monday - Friday, 11 AM to 7 PM, Saturday and Sunday, 11 AM to 8 PM. Cash and credit cards accepted.
