Prior to 1957, when the (then) new road bridge was built about 100 yards to the north, this was used as a pedestrian bridge, as the road bridge didn't accommodate pedestrians. It is presently unknown when the bridge was built, though it could have been built in the early twentieth century by the Doukhobors.

Some time after 1957 this bridge was decommissioned. At some time between then and now it came into use carrying a pipeline across the river. The bridge has a span of about 150 feet.
