This station is a Connecticut Geodetic Survey standard bench mark disk, located in the Redding, CT section of the village of Georgetown. It is set in the north end of a concrete headwall of a culvert off the east side of CT Route 107. It replaces LX2302, the original U71 NGS disk, that was most likely destroyed by road construction in the area. Below is the description of former mark LX2302, which helped considerably in finding the present mark:

1.4 KM (0.9 MI) NORTH FROM GEORGETOWN.
1.4 KM (0.9 MI) NORTH ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 107 FROM THE JUNCTION OF
U.S. HIGHWAY 7 IN GEORGETOWN TO THE MARK ON THE RIGHT, IN THE HEADWALL
OF A CULVERT, 5.7 METERS (19.0 FT) EAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE
HIGHWAY, 2.1 METERS (7.0 FT) SOUTH OF A LARGE OAK TREE.
THE MARK IS 0.30 M ABOVE HIGHWAY.

A witness post near the present mark helped complete the recovery.

This disk has no apparent NGS PID issued to it, at the time of this recovery.
