Dapto & its surrounds have been earmarked for substantial housing development & as a consequence, changes to its retail sector will also follow. There are several buildings that are seen as significant & worthy of retention, with the Fields Building on the Princes Highway being one. Although the draft paper 'Dapto Town Centre Revitalisation Study' prepared by Wollongong City Council doesn't actually mention this building it does include a photograph of it.
