The sasquatch, or bigfoot, is a legendary primate that has often reported around the Harrison Hot Springs area. Sasquatch is an Anglicized derivative of the local Halq'eméylem word sásq’ets.

Over the centuries there have been many reports of sightings of the sasquatch in British Columbia and across North America. Around Harrison Hot Springs, the upper Fraser Valley, and surrounding mountains there have been hundreds of stories of people seeing these large primates. Yet there never has been conclusive proof of their existence.
