Visitors to the
Palm Desert Historical Society will see a marble monument located in the front yard. There are two plaques on the monument which say:

There are other nice historical objects and plaques located outside the historical society. This building once housed Palm Desert's first fire station and there is usually an antique, red fire truck parked in the driveway.
