No ano de 2000, foi inaugurado o monumento ao Emigrante, oferta de um luso-brasileiro, o Dr. Giesteira, no topo de um escadório, construído nos anos sessenta pela população de Laúndos, que o mesmo benfeitor renovou e mandou adornar com jardins, tendo estes várias representações, tais como: a bandeira de Portugal e do Brasil, palavras como paz, amor entre outras coisas.

The monument to the emigrants was inaugurated in 2000 and was an offer of a Luso-Brazilian, Dr. Giesteira, on top of a stairway, built in the sixties by the population of Laúndos.
