UPDATE: the phone and stand was removed in 2015 or 2016 and has not been replaced. One less payphone out there for no one to use.
A lonely-looking payphone, it sits watching the world go by but seldom does it get used. I pass this phone booth each day as I travel to and from work, and I cannot recall seeing it in use. Hundreds of car pass by each day as they cross the Burlington Ship Canal, but do cars ever stop to use this phone? Or how about the many pedestrians who walk, run or cycle by along the Lake Ontario trail? Or the boaters and fisherman as they access Fisherman’s Pier, will they make a call? Sadly, this phone may be worth more as scrap metal and waste electronics but for now it sits, waiting and rusting.
