The Kansas Law Enforcement Memorial is engraved with the names of the almost 300 KS law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty since the earliest days of the Kansas Territory.
The memorial is a raised pedestal of grey granite in a small plaza. The names of officers killed in the line of duty are engraved on the panels around the central star, which is also made of carved grey granite. The area between the rim of the memorial and the star in the center is open for flower plantings. In the center of the star is a raised pedestal capped with a rounded brass seal of the state of Kansas. The memorial suggests the shape and power of a law enforcement officer's badge.
A memorial ceremony is held at this solemn and respectful place every year.
