This house is gorgeous with its off centered entrance, center block construction and beautiful front doors. The address of the house is in stained glass in the transom. The outside of the house unfortunately is ghettofied and messy.

Naturally, a building this old and unique is also a contributing structure to the Mount Holly Historic District. In my never ending quest to document all things contributing, I visited the town library to retrieve the nomination form and narratives for the historic district. The reference desk rewarded me with a very old, crumbling NRHP packet from 1969. Despite what on-line sources would have you believe, there are actually 39 contributing structures and not 36.

From the Nomination Form:
29. PETER LYNCH HOUSE ....1856 ....137 Mill Street
Three story side hall floor plan, central block with one wing, frame house, with flat roof and unique deck with iron railing; high stone foundation with brick cap; walls of shiplap with weather board; one bay entrance porch with paneled square supporting columns; double door entrance with side lights and transom; one inside end chimney and one central; 6/6 windows two feet from floor level with panels below windows inside; paneled shutters on first floor; dentils under soffit of roof with box cornice.

This historical marker can be found to the very far right, on the edge of the house. The local DAR chapter has been responsible for selling and installing these markers since 1975. This one was installed in 1975. The sign is in decent shape considering its age. Other neighboring communities use the same markers to designate their historic buildings and/or contributing structures such as Pemberton, Moorestown & Mt. Laurel. The marker reads as follows:
