Dette hus er fødested og barndomshjemmet hvor Jens Otto Krag voksede op. Huset er ligesom den gang stadig private lejligheder og det er derfor kun muligt at studere det udefra. På huset er placeret en mindeplade med teksten: "Her i dette hus - Stemannsgade 11 - fødtes // Jens Otto Krag // 15. september 1914 // Socialdemokratisk folketingsmedlem for Randers-kredsen 1947-73 // Forskellige ministerposter 1947-62 // Statsminister 1962-68 og 1971-72 // Død 22. juni 1978 // Mindepladen er opsat af Socialdemokratiet i Randers-kredsen 15. september 2004" Overfor huset er en stor plads, som anvendes til mange forskellige udendørs arrangementer, blevet navngivet "Jens Otto Krags Plads" og her findes bl.a. en fornem buste af den tidligere statsminister. This house is the birthplace and childhood home where Jens Otto Krag grew up. The house is, like then, still private apartments and therefore it is only possible to study it from the outside.

Jens Otto Krag was the man who, more than anyone, created the modern political Denmark. He was probably the postwar most prominent politician and one of the greatest figures in Danish politics in the 20th century. He was prime minister in two periods, 1962-68 and 1971-72. In his last reign, he worked hard to ensure Denmark a place in the Common Market, EC. This succeeded on second October 1972

This is a somewhat typical house for this area. Not much to see but when I took a look around, it is kind of fascinating to think that a man born here is responsible for so many political things affecting the surroundings we live in her in Randers, and in many other cities.
