In Quincy, along Coddington Street, is the Bethany Church, which has a peace pole installed.
The pole is located along Coddington Street, a few feet from the sidewalk. It is at a walkway leading to an entrance to the building and about 40 ft from a driveway.
The white pole is a typical peace pole: four-sided and includes words from several lands. In addition to English one of the languages is Hebrew (though with English letters). I'm not sure what the Asian one is.
In the back, in small lettering is the following:
"Dedicated to Lena Foster & Helen Crofts
(2 people of peace)
September 22, 1996"
On another part of the pole are the following words:
"Each time you see this pole pray for a world that longs for peace
1996"
Languages: English, Hebrew, an Asian language, and unknown.
