The Peteetneet School
The Peteetneet Academy, named after Ute Indian Chief Peteetneet for his kindness and cooperation with the early settlers, is a cultural and historical center for the city of Payson. The Academy was erected in 1901 as a school for the children of Payson City. Though later abandoned as a school, the Academy stands today through the restoration and preservation efforts of an organization of local residents known as "Perople Preserving Peteetneet".
Peteetneet Academy houses an art gallery, historical gallery, and a school of the arts.
