This post is located about a tenth of a mile E of US 13 along the N side of Marva RD as it turns W to meet US 13. It is NE of a metal witness post at the edge of a clearing. This survey stone has been integrated into the National Spatial Reference System database of the National Geodetic Survey - serving as a horizontal and vertical control point in addition to its primary function marking the state border.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1963 1.8 MI N FROM NEW CHURCH. 1.55 MILES NORTH ALONG THE PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD FROM THE CROSSING OF SECONDARY STATE HIGHWAY 709 AT NEW CHURCH, THENCE 0.25 MILE EAST ALONG A BLACK TOP ROAD, ABOUT 100 YARDS EAST OF THE INTERSECTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 13, ON THE OUTSIDE OF A CURVE WITH TANGENTS EXTENDING WEST AND SOUTHEAST, 24 FEET NORTH OF CENTER LINE OF ROAD, 1 1/2 FEET ABOVE LEVEL OF ROAD, AND IS A GRANITE POST ABOUT 1-FOOT BY 1 1/2-FEET AND PROJECTING 2 1/2 FEET ABOVE LEVEL OF GROUND WITH THE DATE 1883 CHISELED ON THE TOP SURFACE. CENTER OF TOP OF MONUMENT.
