I live in Fort Worth, Texas, where barbecue is a priority subject. One of the best places to for the stuff is Angelo's.
Located in an old part of town some distance from the freeway, it can be a little cumbersome to get to for people who don't live here. It's worth the trouble though.
The ribs are good. So is the brisket. I had the chicken once, and I believe that is the biggest mess I have ever made eating.
Plenty of beer. They sell pitchers.
You ask people in Fort Worth where the best barbecue is, and some good percentage will tell you Angelo's. Others will say Railhead. Others would say Soda Springs. My favorite, actually, is Spring Creek. Awesome ribs there, and I am a rib fan (and good cole slaw).
Angelo's tends to cater more to the younger adult (college) crowd, as well as the old redneck crowd, where Railhead draws in the yuppies and middle-agers.
Angelo's specializes in barbecue. They do it all well. Ribs, chicken, brisket, sausage, and the standard variety of sandwiches. Good sides. Nothing stands out better than the others.
Hours: 11am - 10pm, Monday through Saturday. No reservations.
