Stuart Park connects Waterfront Park to its south with Kerry Park to its north. A boardwalk runs the entire length of the park along Okanagan Lake, and connects many of Kelowna's marinas.
The park includes a B.C. Spirit Square, an ice rink, and public art displays. Still under development, more art displays are to be placed in the park in the future. At present, atop spirit square rests a large open frame sculpture of a grizzly bear. "Kelowna" is an English translation of an Okanagan-Sylix First Nation word for "Female Grizzly Bear".
This outdoor ice rink is meant purely for casual and recreational (fun) skating, certainly not hockey or shinny games. There are no boards around this rink. It is cooled artificially, so the skating season on this rink is 4 to 5 months.
