The mural commemorates the victims of the 2010 San Bruno explosion, when 8 residents of the Crestmoor neighborhood were killed and over 30 houses were destroyed. A gas pipe exploded and caught the neighborhood on fire. The mural is on the side of the Presbyterian church. It shows a Phoenix rising from the flames and a row of hands that represent the community joining together.
