The arts center is a mile from downtown Pacifica. It used to be a former school. The mural takes up the whole wall facing the main parking lot. The mural shows the history of the region, from the time when it was part of Mexico to the present day. It features Mexican dances, a tree in the middle, a school band, soccer players and a tree planting. I believe the figure to the left is Don Francisco Sanchez, a former mayor of San Francisco, whose adobe is still standing in Pacifica.
