This is a three dimensional style weathervane made of wood with metal accents. It is painted to resemmble a common dolphinfish. The fish is mounted on a rod above the N,E,S,W indicators. Below the indicators is a small sphere and mounted to a metal clad roof. The Mahi-Mahi fish being referred to as a "dolphin" causes it to be confused with the marine mammals called dolphins.
