The concrete bridge crosses Pilarcitos Creek,, connecting downtown with a small city owned park. The plaque reads:


"First Concrete Bridge Erected in San Mateo Co -
1900 - J. Debendetti Supervisor -
D. Bromfield & C. Tobey Jr. Engineers -
R.C. Mattingly & W. Heafey Contractors."

The bridge was one of the first to use steel-reinforced concrete bridges in the world. It used cables from the cable cars of San Francisco.
