Just another case. Rural population moving to the city and more populated areas. A centennial community left to die of old age. Água de Tábuas still has some life in it, but nobody lives there. Only it's located near a hiking trail so visitors will eventually find it. I believe the last person - an old man, from my observation - left the village in consequence of the big wildfire of Summer 2012, probably evacuated, leaving behind his home which was totally destroyed by the flames.
