This light illuminates part of the parking area and the parking ticket machine located near the edge of John Oldham Park, a large park sandwiched between the Kwinana Freeway and Mounts Bay Road.

A small wind turbine, supplemented by two solar photovoltaic collectors approximately 90 cm by 60 cm, provide the electrical power for two high efficiency LED lights.

Facilities in the park include picnic facilities, rubbish bins, a variety of excellent play equipment, and park benches for the weary parents to watch their offspring from.
