A log building, typical of the period and the locale, the Brown Creek School opened in 1920 and remained a school for perhaps 30 to 35 years. By the 1950s most small schools in the area were closed and the children bussed to Grand Forks. It's not known when the school was renovated to become the community hall.

Each of the outhouses is a two holer.
