Visitors to the historic town of
Port Gamble are inundated with historical elements throughout the township. Almost every building in this town contains a historical marker that highlights the history of prior occupants. Each marker stands out nicely on painted burgundy boards and gold lettering. This historic former residence contains a marker on the front fence that reads:

This house was barged over from Port Ludlow after 1929.
At Port Ludlow, this was Morrill Pope's house, who was
supervisor of the mill. This house replaces the earlier John
Seavey house that had stood here since 1870. |
I could find no other pertinent information regarding the history and background of this former residence. It is currently home to the 'Orbea Sign Company'.

This former residence, along with the majority of residences and businesses in Port Gamble, is owned by Pope Resources and maintained by Olympic Property Group and many homes and buildings are available for rent/lease throughout the year.
