This building is located west off State Street on 13th street right across from the post office. It now houses some sort of dance studio/club. After some internet searching I found that this building was occupied in 1923 by the William Irwin Arbuckle Co that advertised itself as a dealer in "Wholesale Paper, Specialties and House Furnishings" I think that the top line just below the roof originally showed the company name "William I Arbuckle" or possibly Wm. Irwin Arbuckle". If you look at the last letters, the UCKLE of ARBUCKLE shows clearly. Painted over the original sign are the letters DAKA PAPER but I think that we are missing some letters here as to what DAKA meant. The line below that I believe originally said Wholesale Paper and Specialties. Again, you can see at the beginning the letters WHOLES as in WHOLESale and at the end of the line the letters ALTIES as in speciALTIES, but between them they have been painted over with the words "Wholesale Papers". I am posting an image of an old order book from the company I found that has a drawing of the same building, which includes the correct address and the company name, the same address that the Metropolitan Dance Studio now occupies.
