The Village Bakery was established in 1952 by Wendel and Georgia Montgomery, and they offer up signature Czech pastries such as kolaches, strudel, vánocka, and buchta, as well as a variety of pies, breads, and cookies. They are regularly lauded as having the best kolaches in Texas, and are the originators of the sausage kolache, "klobasniki," a name they have even trademarked.
