NZ0213 - USC&GS 'N 549' - Central Point, OR - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey benchmark from 1954 in poor condition for the reason that the disk face has been sliced in two but it shouldn't affect surveying methods since the face is monumented flush/level and sound in its concrete base.

The datasheet description was confusing but I was still able to recover it. I also appreciated the care and effort made to retain this BM by working a wall around it when the Grange building was expanded.

My posted coordinates will place you very close to this station.

RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1987 RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. A NEW DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS. IN CENTRAL POINT, AT THE INTERSECTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 99 AND PINE STREET, IN THE NORTHWEST END OF THE NORTHEAST RETAINING WALL OF A RAMP LEADING TO THE SCALES AT THE GRANGE CO-OP, 45.7 M (149.9 FT) SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE STREET, 6.1 M (20.0 FT) SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHWEST CURB OF THE STREET, AND 0.2 M (0.7 FT) SOUTHEAST OF THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE CO-OP OFFICE. THE MARK IS 1.2 M ABOVE THE HIGHWAY.
