The work is over 26 feet tall, and consists of a full-bloom rose and single stem. It is constructed of over 75% recycled materials. It was created in 1993 and reprised in 2007. It previously was displayed at the New Museum in New York before making the long trip to Las Vegas in 2010.
The work is by the renowned German artist Isa Genzken. Originally placed in the porte cochère (front lobby area) of the Harmon Hotel, it was assumed by the City Center Fine Art Collection and relocated to its present position in 2011 when the Harmon encountered structural problems.
