This bust on a marble base was placed in what had been known as Franklin Park, until 1965, when it was renamed in honor of Fredriech von Schiller. The bust was actually placed here many years prior by the Federation of German-American Societies.

A bronze bust of German poet Friedrich von Schiller is installed atop a tall stone shaft which rests on a flat rectangular base that is adorned with a stone bench at each end. Carl Augustus Heber is credited with the sculpture, and Aubry Brothers and Company, with foundry work.

(On bronze plaque on front of base:) SCHILLER PARK/RENAMED IN HONOR OF FRIEDRICH VON SCHILLER, FRANKLIN SQUARE WAS FORMERLY A CENTER OF GERMAN AMERICAN LIFE.
