Hawthorn Street in southeast Portland is a busy, busy street, and is the home of some very popular destinations, such as Lucky Lab Pub and Restaurant, which is just across the street from this old building. Unfortunately, the popularity of of the neighbors causes this neat old building and its lovely frieze art to go unnoticed. Take a moment to visit here, and glance around. This building has frieze art that reads "National Laundry Co" and has a lovely eagle and wreath, currently painted an appealing bronze color. Look next door, too, to see the Red Man Hall, with it's Native American frieze art. I am very happy to see that these old buildings have been maintained and kept in good repair; the craftsmanship of this artwork deserves to be preserved.
