This cannon is located in Evansville, IN at the large Oak Hill Cemetery. The cemetery is located just east of Hwy 41 off of Columbia St.
The cannon is in the veteran cemetery area of Oak Hill consisting of around 500 Civil War veteran graves. The area is chained off as well as the military headstones in perfect rows. In the rows, there is a clearing, and at the top of the hillside, this is where the cannon sits. Since it is with the Civil War graves, it is assumed that the cannon is also from the Civil War, but no information is available reguarding that.
Not being a military or artillery buff, there is not much knowledge or information to pass along. Its a cannon, its cool, and it is nice to imagine our history being made what it is by weapons just like this one.
