These 77 steps are a very ornate part of Thomas Fuller's architectural foundation for the New York Capitol building. These steps lead from the second floor of the Capitol to East Capitol Park.

The steps lead to the second floor of the Capitol, which is the floor where the Governor's office is.

Capitol Building tour guides say that Teddy Roosevelt said he would only give an interview to the reporter who could beat him to the top. There are no interviews on record of Teddy Roosevelt while he was governor of NY!
