Market Street Elementary School was built to replace the aging East Street School building. It was built on the site of the old Warren Sr High School that had occupied that corner from 1898 to 1961 when it was razed. An image of an old postcard showing the old high school is included in the gallery for your perspective. Market Street Elementary was closed following the completion and opening of the Warren Area Elementary Center in 2005. The property has since been purchased by Pennsylvania General Energy Corporation and is used as offices.
