The historic Thompson Park is a large, city-owned public park featuring tennis courts, playgrounds, a public pool, multiple picnic areas, large open fields which host various sports and activities, an 18-hole golf course, multiple hiking trails, and many picturesque views of the city of Watertown and surrounding areas due to its very high elevation. The park is made up of five hundred-thirteen acres of land at the southeast edge of the city.
Near the Thompson Blvd entrance one of these hiking trails includes this huge stone staircase.
