Kostel pravdepodobne ze 13. století, souvisí se sídlem nejstarších Markvarticu, významného ceského šlechtického rodu. Soucasná stavba pochází snad z 15. Století, dnešní vzhled je výsledkem barokní prestavby v 18. století a úpravy roku 1890.

The church probably from the 13th century, refers to the oldest seat Markvartic, a prominent Czech aristocratic family. The current building dates probably from the 15th Century, today's look is the result of a baroque reconstruction in the 18th century and modifications in 1890.
