Cubres Station, just west of Colorado Highway 17 at the summit of Cumbres Pass, is a great place to witness narrow guage steam power twice a day during the tourist season.

Two trains a day stop at Cumbres Station to take on water for their excursions between Chama, New Mexico and Antonito, Colorado. The trains run according to the following schedule:

May 25 to September 14 ~ Monday - Saturday
September 15 - October 20 ~ Daily
