This style of marker are rare to find @ Gettysburg. I have found four of them so far. This marker is a white sign with blue trim attached to a wooden-slated bench well off the beaten path in a field. The sign can be reached from the west side or the left side of Hancock Avenue when traveling north. The marker is 303 feet off of the main road. The sign of history is located on a foot trail leading from the Copse of Trees out to the Codori Farm. This part of the trail makes a loop or curve like a ladle and this is where the marker is located. The marker reads:
UNION COUNTERTHRUST
July 3, 1863
From this position green troops of Vermont
struck the flank of Pickett's division even
as its front ranks were locked in savage
struggle at the Angle. This section helped
turn the Confederate high tide.
Group that erected the marker: Gettysburg National Military Park
