Depicted WWII memorial, dedicated to local victims of Nazi persecution, you can find in a small park area close to the main entrance in Slezská Ostrava Central cemetery (Ustrední hrbitov).
The stone memorial is formed by a massive pedestal with statuary composed from freedom fighter with machine gun in a right hand and flag in the left hand staying close to fallen comrade-in-arms.
In the front part of the pedestal is mounted stone tablet with inscription" Hrdinové neumírají (Heroes are not dying) and years 1939-1945. Above the tabled is carved Czech lion (state symbol).
On the left pedestal' side is black marble tablet with a following inscription and list of victims:
