Playa Kenepa Grandi (or "Grote Knip" in Dutch) is a beach located at the northwestern tip of the island of Curacao.
"Grote Knip" -- a.k.a. "Large Cut" in order to differentiate it from its much smaller and more intimate "Small Cut" brethren nearby -- is a picturesque beach that is often found on postcards of Curacao: there is a platform at the top of the cliff (right near the parking area) where one can take panoramic shots of the entire tiny bay.
The beach is one of the locals' favorites due to its large open sandy area, pristine waters and relatively soft sand. Like most beaches on the island, however, its terrain still consists of both fine white sand intermixed with somewhat coarser crushed shell and spotty patches of dead coral remains in some specific areas.
Access to the beach is free. Available services are relatively few when compared to other beaches on the island that do charge an entrance fee, but this particular beach is open year round and at all hours of the day. Amenities include some small toilets and plenty of huts and trees for shade during the hottest times of the day. Both snacks and drinks are available for sale, but only during weekends and on holidays.
