This NGS reference mark lies along Hwy 31 and directly across the road from the MOSS series of benchmarks in Lake County, OR.

I recovered this National Geodetic Survey reference mark in good condition. It lies just north of Hwy 31 in front of a metal fence line and is part of the MOSS series of benchmarks directly across the road.

The Geocaching.com's datasheet info is out of date and I've provided a web link to the current datasheet info below. The current datasheet info is adequate for disk recovery. My posted coordinates will place you very close to this reference mark.

STATION RECOVERY (1984)

REFERENCE MARK NO 3 IS A STANDARD NGS DISK STAMPED--MOSS 1948 NO 3 1984---, SET INTO THE TOP OF A ROUND CONCRETE MONUMENT, 20 CM IN DIAMETER, PROJECTING 10 CM ABOVE THE GROUND. THE STATION IS LOCATED 11.5 METERS (37.7 FT) EAST FROM A POWER POLE NUMBER A 148, 10.3 METERS (33.8 FT) NORTH FROM THE CENTERLINE OF ROAD, 0.45 METERS (1.48 FT) WEST FROM A FENCE AND 0.5 METERS (1.6 FT) LOWER THAN THE STATION.
