This 20,000 square foot multi purpose recreation facility is to be found along the east side of 6th avenue, just south of 20th street.
It consists of:
a ball diamond
a Seniors' Centre
a 1050 seat ice arena that includes a regulation ice surface, 5 dressing rooms, referees room and concession
an aquatic centre, consisting of a 25 meter 6 lane pool, zero depth tots spray pool, steam room, whirlpool, dance studio and outdoor patio
fitness and weight rooms
convention and meeting rooms
a skate and bicycle park
a soccer field
four tennis courts
a childrens' playground
All this came at considerable cost, only a part of which was borne by the City, the Regional District, and the Province. A substantial portion of the cost was met by donations.
This brick wall was created in the aquatic centre to acknowledge all those who donated in one way or another to the construction of this fine facility.
