This bronze relief of General Ulysses S. Grant depicts him on horseback at the Battle of Lookout Mountain during the Civil War. Behind him and to the right are others on horseback, while in front and below him are a group of soldiers. The statue and relief sculpture are located northeast of City Hall on the grounds known as Washington Square at 1200 Market Street. They were both commissioned by the Grant Monument Association of Missouri.
