Booktopia describes Kangaroo Valley as one of Australia’s most beautiful: scooped out by river erosion, clothed in lush farmland and fringed with forest. Reputed to be one of only seven fully-enclosed valleys in the world, it nestles between the Southern Highlands escarpment and the Cambewarra range that separates it from the coastal plain.
It was this natural beauty that saw the local citizens protest against a proposal to erect a mobile phone tower in their valley. Eventually a compromise was reached & a mobile phone tower that resembled a farm windmill was built on a local farm.
It can be seen from the road from where the co-ordinates were taken.
