This is the 'Linuxhotel' which is located inside the old so-called 'Villa Vogelsang' in Essen-Horst, Germany, Nordrhein-Westfalen. The building was built 1840–1850.
The villa was originally built as a family residence by the buisness man Friedrich Ludwig Niemann by plans of Karl Friedrich Schinkel.
The house was sold to Heinrich Dammer in 1870.
And again to Wilhelm Vogelsang in 1910.
It was sold to the 'deutsches Rotes Kreuz' (German Red Cross) in 1947.
In 1962 it was used as an abbey.
Reinhard Wiesemann bought it in 1994 and renovated it until 1999. Since then it is used as a hotel.
The house is located inside a huge park of 25,000 squere meters size.
It is listed in the German Monument Registers.
They have nine rooms and three training rooms.
They offer all kinds of IT trainings on open source software.
