According to the 1919 Minutes of the Barry County Southern Baptist Association, this church was organized in 1848. The church, which is still an active member church of the association, has its own website.

As is typical with many churches, there is an oldest section, and then a newer section added onto that. In this case, New Site has yet another huge section that houses a gymnasium and larger classrooms.
